News From Los Angeles

While producing Billy Sheehan`s third solo CD, Simone Sello used his Cloe Firefly to track some rhythm guitar parts, as well as a solo on a song which is currently still untitled… In the CD, there is also a guest appearance by the legendary Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top. The same instrument was used at the winter NAMM show 2008 in Anaheim to demo the amp simulator plug-in TH1, by Overloud, soon to be released. In studio, Simone used the Firefly while tracking all the electric parts for a Disney Japan project featuring Hilary Duff (http://home.disney.co.jp/mobile) of which he co-produced the backing track. The main asset of the Firefly has been its great versatility in achieving rock sounds. But the Firefly behaved really well also in other situations, for instance during the recording of Ron`s new single “Quando Saro` Capace Di Amare” where Simone played the guitars at Henson Studios in Los Angeles, in a great live session which – besides Ron on piano and vocals – featured Curt Bisquera on drums (Mick Jagger, Tina Turner…) and Lee Sklar on bass (Phil Collins, Toto…).
In the same period, Simone worked with Vasco Rossi in his latest video “Il Mondo Che Vorrei” (also featuring Will Calhoun from Living Color on drums) and recorded backing vocals on the song “Gioca Con Me”, with Slash on guitar. Lately, Simone has been using the Firefly in studio and live with his funk-rock band Slaamd (http://myspace.com/slaamd).
